• Best Paper Award 2024

    Call for Submission

The Hong Kong Sociological Association (HKSA) will soon be accepting submissions for the Best Paper Award.

To be eligible for consideration, papers must meet the following requirements:

Nomination: Papers can either be self-nominated or nominated by other scholars. The nominee must

be a current member of HKSA at the time of nomination or self-nomination.

Publication Timeline: The paper must have been published within the last three academic years,

with online appearance or actual publication serving as the reference point. For example, for the current

call-for-award round, the eligible period would be from August 2021 to July 2024.

Relevance and Impact: The paper should demonstrate significant relevance and impact in the field of sociology.

Priority will be given to papers published in general sociology journals, although we also accept nomination from area journals.

Greater China Focus: The paper must be related to Greater China, encompassing mainland China,

Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, or the overseas Chinese community. In cases where paper qualities are similar,

preference will be given to papers with a greater focus on Hong Kong.

Submission Requirements: The nominated paper must be accompanied by the published version

and a persuasive letter up to 300 words. The letter should explain why the paper deserves the Best Paper Award.

    Submission Deadline: To be announced.

Attendance at HKSA Conference: Awardees are required to attend the HKSA conference in person to receive the award.

We encourage all eligible scholars to participate in this prestigious award.
